Tom Ewart is Manager of Sustainability & Citizenship at The Co-operators Group. He and his team help the organization realize its vision of being a ‘catalyst for a sustainable society.’
Prior to joining The Co-operators, Tom was the founding Managing Director of the Network for Business Sustainability (NBS)–a non-profit organization that produces authoritative resources on key business issues with the goal of shaping management practice and research for tomorrow. At NBS, Tom delivered on a wide range of responsibilities–recruiting over 1,600 members and crafting over 30 partnerships, managing 9 major research projects and publishing 20 reports, delivering over 20 invited presentations from Paris to Denver to Toronto, organizing 12 events, helping to raise nearly $3m, all while managing budgets and reporting to key stakeholders.
Alongside his work at NBS, Tom taught business sustainability courses in the University of Western Ontario’s Masters of Environment and Sustainability program, and in the University of Waterloo’s Centre for Environment and Business.
Tom graduated from the University of Western Ontario as a gold medalist in the Engineering Faculty and as an Ivey Scholar from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
